Ketley Paddock Mound way-marker 6 Page under construction

This waymarker is near to the highest point of Ketley Paddock Mound.  From here there are views over Wellington, The Wrekin and much further, over north Shropshire and the Welsh Hills.

In summer, these views are masked by growth from the trees growing on the sides of the mound, and we hope to take some of the larger trees down – to bring back the views and improve the lower habitat for wildlife.

On top of the mound itself, we are starting to establish a wildflower meadow, and there is a lower area, which we call "The Arc", where the grass is cut short so children can kick a ball, and families can picnic.

You can access the whole site (excluding the canal area) without needing steps, though for braver souls there are steep sets of steps to take you to the mound top from close to the Glade, and close to the Round Pool.

You can access the canal area from the entrance by the painted bus stop on the Holyhead Road – just up the road from the car park by TACT. There are maps of the site at each entrance.

We'll be adding photos and further information to the way-marker pages in due course. These will be accessible from links in the website or if you're on Paddock Mound try scanning the QR codes on the posts with your smart phone
